Title: A drawing of a buckle traced from publication: 'De Baye's Industrial Arts of Anglo-Saxons, p.94-5, Pl.XX.I.' Drawn onto tracing paper and adhered to lined backing paper.
Content: A drawing of a buckle. On the backing paper are notes, including a reference to the Ashmolean Museum Department of Antiquities Accession Register, 1886.1448 (the Accession Register number of the buckle). Below this is a transcript of a letter from Miss Macfarlane (presumably to Mr Percy Manning). Explains that the buckle was found with other buckles and portions of human skeleton in sandy mounds running at right angles to the Dyke Hills at Dorchester near to the Thame stream. Explains that the skeletons and the buckles were sent by Mr Macfarlane to Professor Rolleston in 1874.
