Appleford Item No.: 1 No. of Sheets: 1
Title: Notes
Content: Notes entitled 'Appleford'. Mentions marks in growing crops showing the site of a Late Celtic or Romano-British settlement, similar to that at Long Wittenham. The features were noted by Mr J. Flowerfield as being two or three miles west of Northfield Farm, south of the church. A further note in brackets adds that they are the same as those described by 'P.M.' (Mr Percy Manning?) in the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Journal. There is also a reference to the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of London, Second Series, Volume XVIII, p.15.
