Title: Two notes by Mr E.T. Leeds
Content: Concerning the excavations and finds at a gravel pit on the East side of Catsham Lane about half way from the village of Chadlington to the bridge after the Evenlode. Human remains and graves. The first note details the excavations at the site attended by Leeds on Saturday July 20 1989 and the second note details the excavations attended by him on Tuesday July 30 1989. Lists the finds discovered at the site (Ornament - bead or whorl; Knife; Human remains; Pottery - a small coarse vase and a sherd; Charcoal; Burnt bones; Large antler; Several pieces of shell; Bronze divisions including 2 pieces of the upper disk), as well as the different archaeological features at the site (Various human remains uncovered; Two graves exposed towards the eastward end of the pit; Sifting; Holes with pottery and bones on the west side of the gravel pit; A pit with traces of charcoal, burnt stones and a large antler; Grave west-east of the pit with a body in a crouched position).
