| Title: | Manuscript extract from publication: 'J.Hearne's Collections, Volume V, p.380'. | ||||
| Content: | The sheet is headed 'Wittenham'. The extract, dated 1714, mentions that coins are sometimes found on 'Sinnodune Hills' and that some time ago a Mr Bannister told Hearne that an entire pot of coins had been found there. Bannister also said that on the Western Hill, known as the 'Welch Harp', bones of a man were dug up. Apart from that, there were no buildings found on Welch Harp Hill, nor any trenches or works. | ||||
