Foxcombe Hill (Sunningwell) | Item No.: | 7 | No. of Sheets: | 1 |
| Title: | Sheet of notes | ||||
| Content: | The notes have been made by Mr Percy Manning after an inspection by him of a site on Foxcombe Hill in 1894. He records a black patch in the soil about 100 yards north east of Rye Hill Barn and on the edge of the hill overlooking Bayworth. The patch showed clearly when the ground had been ploughed and there was also a lot of Roman pottery to be found there, particularly grey and smother-kiln ware. A publication reference is written below the note: 'Berkshire Vicotira History, Volume I, p.215.' | ||||
