Content: Extract headed 'Milton' and written on a seperate stip of paper adhered to the sheet. Concerning the discovery on 9 June 1824 of a human skeleton in Milton field, about two furlongs from the road leading from Milton to Sutton, by labourers employed in a gravel pit. Also found with the skeleton was a straight sword in a decayed state. The skeleton and the sword were subsequently in the possession of a person from Abingdon. Nine other skeletons were found in the pit over the course of 3 years.
