Content: Cutting contains an article entitled 'The Battle of Aescendune' taken from the 'Reading Observer, July 18, 1890 (Berkshire Archaeological Society)'. Through an account of papers read by the Reverends P.H. Ditchfield and E.R. Gardiner of the Berkshire Archaeological Society, the article discusses the history surrounding the battle and suggests possible sites where it might have taken place.
