Wallingford | Item No.: | 11 | No. of Sheets: | 1 (folded) |
| Title: | Drawings and notes on tracing paper adhered to the sheet, with notes below it. | ||||
| Content: | Two drawings (section and side) of a bronze dagger with a note next to it explaining that it was dredged up from the Thames at Wallingford Bridge and giving a brief description and measurements of it. Beneath the drawings is a transcript of a note by Mr T.H. Powell, dated 1910: 'In a letter from Mr W. R. Davies dated December 1887 he states about 5 years before a bronze dagger was found in the river by the bridge; he sent me a sketch'. Manning adds that the drawing was traced from Davies' sketch of the dagger. | ||||
