Wychwood | Item No.: | 32 | No. of Sheets: | 1 |
| Title: | Two manuscript extracts from publications and a note by Mr Percy Manning | ||||
| Content: | Extracts from: 'The Natural History of Oxfordshire' Robert Plot ed. 1705, p.351 and 'Akerman's Forest of Wychwood in Archaeology, 1858, Volume XXXVII, p.430.' The first concerning an upright stone near the road between Benford and Chipping Norton and the second mentioning a Hore Stone that is cracked in several places. Manning's note speculates that if the two references are to the same stone, then it is marked in Akerman's map of Wychwood as between Priest Grove and Fairfield Corner. | ||||
