Content: The note is headed 'Wytham Pottery, June 6, 1870, p.940'. Mentions various styles of coarse British pottery, some Roman, some Saxon with thumb marks. Rolleston has also written: 'some angular pottery with Vandyck figuring, very like Saxon, but said not to be Saxon by Prof. Phillips'.
