Title: Two manuscript extracts from publications: 'Jordan's Parochial History of Enstone, 1887, p.51' and 'Journal of Ethnographic Society, Volume I, 1869, pp.3-4'.
Content: Concerning Watts Wells South - Ditchley property. The first extract describes the site and suggests that it is examined properly. The second extract is part of an article by General Pitt Rivers concerning traces of Roman villas in the vicinity of Devil's Pool, a mile to the north west of Callow Hill and near Watts Wells farm. Explains how he investigated the Roman sites on Lord Dillon's property, clearing away the pottery and topsoil to reach a Roman pavement.
