Letcombe Basset Item No.: 3 No. of Sheets: 1
Title: Drawings with notes beneath
Content: Two drawings of a palstave from different angles. The dimensions of the objects are given. A note to the side of the drawings indicates that the palstave is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. The notes below the drawings report that the item was in the collection of Reverend J.C. Clutterbuck and subsequently in the possission of Admiral W.R. Clutterbuck of Long Wittenham, on 18 November 1908. The note adds that the palstave was probably found in the Thames, judging by the incrustation of lime on it.
