| Title: | Note based on information from publication: 'Phillips' Geology of Oxford and the Valley of the Thames, p.475'. | ||||
| Content: | Page is headed 'Little Wittenham, Berks'. Note mentions two implements from the Valley gravels described in the publication. Manning notes that he believes the items to have been collected by Reverend J.C. Clutterbuck of Wittenham and he thinks they are probably now in the possession of Captain Clutterbuck of Wittenham. A note in pencil adds that the items were not seen by Mr Percy Manning and Mr E.T. Leeds in 1910 (presumably on a visit to Captain Clutterbuck). The second part of the note mentions gravels on Gault in the village of Little Wittenham and describes the two flint implements which were found in the gravel banks above the river floods or else in the gravelly river bed. | ||||
