| Title: | Manuscript extract from publication: 'John Evans' Ancient Stone Implements, 1897, pp.593 - 594.' | ||||
| Content: | List and descriptions of nine flint implements from Wolvercote gravel beds in the possession of Sir John Evans. He originally had eleven, but gave two away to the Ashmolean Museum. A paragraph of notes before the list mentions that Mr A.M. Bell described the gravel beds at Wolvercote and the implements found there in a paper contributed to the 'Antiquary, Volume XXX, October/November 1894'. It also mentions that Mr Bell had several implements in his collection and the Vicar of Wolvercote, Reverend F.W. Langton, had two or three. | ||||
