| Content: | Concerning a report communicated by Reverend John Wilson on the Roman remains found at Headington and Elsfield (Including: Foundations of a chamber with stucco coated walls and red and green stripes of paint; Roman road). Lists the objects found there (Roman pottery, including almost all the known varieties; Flanged tiles; Small iron umbo; Small globular bell; Objects of iron; Third brass coins; Small vessels of unusual form, of light coloured ware; A stamp for impressing clay bearing a head of Mercury). A note at the foot of the report mentions that the small vessels of unusual form found along the Roman road near the remains were similar to those brought from Nineveh by Mr. Layard. | ||||
