| Title: | Letter from Mr H. Dryden of Byfield to Miss Swann, December 1927 | ||||
| Content: | Concerning British or Celtic bronze articles, including a sword, found in the parish of Middleton Cheney on the farm of Mr Lord. Mr Lord kept them and sold them on to a dealer in Oxford, to the distress of Mr Dryden, who requests that Miss Swann track down the dealer (although he does not know which one) and purchase the items for the museum at Middleton Cheney. He mentions that he is not sure whether Mr Lord sold them himself, or a man names Mr Graves from Bicester. He describes the sword and gives a small drawing of it on the last page of the letter. | ||||
