Ditchley Item No.: 11 No. of Sheets: 1
Title: Letter from Mr. O.G.S. Crawford of the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, to Miss M.V. Taylor.
Content: Concerning the placement of the Roman villa at Ditchley on the 6" Ordnance Survey map of 1923 and the source of information used by the Ordnance Survey to situate it there (sited as both Lord Dillon, claiming that the site was 1/2 mile south east of Ditchley and found by General Pitt Rivers) and Miss Taylor. There seems to have been some inaccuracy, but by the end of the letter, Mr Crawford has confirmed that the villa lies in Watt's Well South field.
