Title: Note by Mr Percy Manning based on information from publications: 'John Evan's Ancient Stone Implements, First Edition p.144 and Second Edition p.160', 'Archaeological Journal, Volume XXI, p.54 - 57, and XIV, p.82'
Content: Mentions a stag's horn haft from Cockshott Hill which Sir John Evans thought was intended for a bronze and not a stone celt. There is a drawing of the object on tracing paper adhered to the note paper below the transcripts. Thurman in the Archaeological Journal compares the object to a specimen with a small bronze celt fixed in it in the Stourhead museum (published in 'Ancient Wiltshire, Volume I, p.182, Pl. XXI')
