Content: | Sheet headed: 'Abingdon'. Extract discusses the finding of a small British urn, the property of Mr. W. Davies, which had been found by one of the labourers digging gravel near Abingdon, announced to the Society by Mr. J.Y. Akerman. Discusses the area in which the urn was found (a half a mile on the road to Radley), and the fact that the urn was reported to have been found with a skeleton. Excavations at the spot revealed two wedge-shaped trenches similar to those found at Standlake. |
