| Title: | Transcript of a note sent from Mr T.H. Powell, 4 October 1909 | ||||
| Content: | Concerning gold British coins collected by Mr W.R.Davies of Wallingford. Mentions that they were sold at Sotheby's and some of them have since been resold there. They were catalogued as being found at Wallingford, but Powell notes that he recalls Mr Davies telling him that they were found on the hills near Watlington, but that he would not state the exact spot. Powell adds that the British coins were not found at Wallingford but almost invariably on the other side of the river, from Dorchester to Goring. | ||||
