| Content: | Drawings of a three different bronze implements, a celt, a palstave, and something else, possible a hoe. All three were traced from John Evan's Ancient Bronze Implements (page 128, figure 150, page 167, figure 193 and page 219, figure 269) and they are all from the John Evans' collection. The note below the drawings mention that the items were found in the Thames at Wallingfrod with a socketed gouge (also mentioned in the publication on page 128) and a socketed knife (page 128). It also mentions that Evans thought the celt represented in the drawing traced from page 128, figure 150, was alluded to in the 'Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries, Volume IV, p.303'. There is a further publication reference below the notes: John Evan's Ancient Bronze Implements, p.457, Hoard number 60. Also a brief note in blue pencil: 'Montelius. Types 163, 164, 165'. | ||||
