Title: Manuscript extract from publication: 'Wing's Antiquities of Steeple Aston, p.2'
Content: Concerning Roman coins found in allotments south of the line of Akeman Street and west of Crow Castle. Also discusses the name of the copse 'Hoar Stone Spinney', on the eastern edge of Avesditch where it crosses Portway. Suggests that it might have referred to cromlechs such as those at Enstone and Barton Abbey, which also carry the name 'Hoar Stone'.
