Content: Concerning finds from the Roman station at Alchester: Greenstone axe-blade; Flat, pyriform piece of red sandstone; Fragment of tessellated pavement; Spindle-whorl; Grey terracotta; Head of Diana broken from a statue; Fragments of vitrea (e.g.mouth of white glass vessel, base of square green glass ampulla); Pottery, various wares (including upper part of large amphora with inscription, upper part of a large gutturnium, two ampulla necks, a mortarium, the remains of an olla, plain and decorated Samian, part of an acetabulum inscribed with maker's name and part of a calathus with an inscription); Vessel exhibiting remains of leaden rivets, which were used to keep it together once it had broken.
