| Title: | A piece of lined paper with a letter from Mr H. Stevens to Mr Percy Manning adhered to it. | ||||
| Content: | The letter is on paper folded to make a small two page pamphlet. The back is adhered to the lined paper. Inside the letter, a diagram of a spear-head with notes on a strip of lined paper has been adhered to the centre fold. The letter concerns two spear-heads and an arrow-head found in two mounds on the top of the Chiltern Hills by a man looking for stones. It also mentions other mounds in the area. There are very faint notes in pencil beneath the post script of the letter: 'Twin barrows at Hempton Plain S.W. of Bledlow Cross. 400 yards S.W., 42.S.W.' The diagram pasted into the letter is of the third spear-head, found in the garden of H. Steven's farm (this is referred to in the post script of the letter). Measurements given. Notes below the diagram. | ||||
