Title: Transcript by Mr Percy Manning of letter from Mr J.Smith of Steeple Aston to the Times Newspaper, 7 March 1866
Content: Concerning graves discovered by labourers working in a gravel pit on the estate of Mr C.C. Dormer of Rousham. Ten round pits containing human remains. The largest grave also contained bones and teeth of a large animal. One grave contained no bones but ashes, burnt stone and pieces of a broken earthen vessel.
