Wittenham Item No.: 1 No. of Sheets: 1
Title: Two photographs adhered to the sheet, with notes below them and a small pencil diagram alongside.
Content: Photographs of both sides of a flint implement from Sinodun Hill (Wittenham) and a further faint pencil drawing alongside it. The note below describes the implement as a grey flint hammer stone from the collection of Mr T.H. Powell, now in the Ashmolean Museum Department fof Antiquities. Below this note is an extract from a letter sent from Powell to Mr Percy Manning in November 1909 (see 1648MANN/1/MS/341/40). Powell mentions that he picked up a small hammer stone on the summit of Wittenham Hill. This is presumably the item in the photographs.
