Title: Manuscript extract from publication: 'Ancient British Barrows by J.Thurman in Archaeologia Vol. XLII, p.175.'
Content: Concerning the tumulus found in Crawley excavated by Mr Akerman in 1857 and by Mr Thurman and Professor Rolleston in 1864. Discussion of the date of the tumulus and the objects and remains found within it (Two small buckles, one of brass and one of iron; Small canula made from a birds bone; Sherds of Romano-British pottery; Human skeletons). The human remains were divided between the collection of the Oxford University Museum and the collection of Mr Thurman. The objects are probably in the Ashmolean Museum Department of Antiquities, Oxford.
