| Content: | Extract mentions a bronze celt found around 1840 in Kinecroft, which was partly enclosed by an entrenchment. It goes on to say that the item was in the possessoin of Mr Bannister of Dorchester in 1881. Gives the dimensions. Adds that it is described in the publication 'Phillip's Geology of Oxford, p.479' in the following manner: 'A bronze celt very perfectly cast, with curved sharp edge and latual annulus'. A further note in pencil below the extract mentions that the item is not mentioned in the Berkshire Victoria History. | ||||
