Title: Printed extract from a society journal: 'Proceeding of the Oxford Architectural and Historical Society, Vol.I, p.185-190, No.VII. March 1862, Meeting of 3 December'.
Content: Report of an address to the society by Mr James Parker concerning Roman remains from Beckley. The text is sandwiched between two plates: one of a group of potsherds and one of the 'view of Roman remains at Beckley, Oxon.' The report includes mention of the architectural features (Roman building remains; Tessellated pavement) and some objects found at the site (Tesserae; Round tiles; Square tiles; Several large nails; Animal bones, including possibly the extinct species of bos longifrons; Fragments of pottery). Also discusses the situation of the site in relation to the surrounding Roman roads. The publication reference is written on the first page of text (which is not part of the relevant report).
