| Content: | Concerning four rings of burnt clay dug up in a small close immediately east of Lower Heyford Church. One of them was in the possession of Mr Percy Manning along with part of a similar ring from Bunker's Hill Quarry, Shipton on Cherwell, found with broken pottery and bones and a third found in the resevoir on Headington Hill. This last went to the Ashmolean Muesum which classed it as Roman. The ring from Lower Heyford is described briefly. Manning suggests that they may have been water heaters. A strip of lined paper adhered to the foot of the page has written on it a paragraph concerning silver and copper Roman coins found in Heyford. | ||||
