Title: Notes based on information from the Ashmolean Museum Department of Antiquities Accession Registers, Numbers 1886.1457 - 1459 and 1467
Content: List of objects in the Ashmolean Museum Department of Antiquities, all from Wytham. 1886.1457 is a drinking cup, two pieces of black pottery and the jaw of a fish, possibly a Pike. All these objects are marked 'Wytham, Jan. 31.72, 2 1/2 in black earth.' 1886.1458 is a mass of burnt human bones and a perforated bone pin, both marked 'Wytham 5.1.72'. 1886.1459 is three flint scrapers, and a barbed flint arrow head, all marked as being from Wytham and with the dates they were discovered. 1886.1467 is an incense vessel marked 'Wytham, 6.6.70'. This last item was Late Celtic and originally in the Rolleston collection in the University Museum and was subsequently transferred to the Ashmolean Museum. Dimensions are given for most of the objects. The note also mentions that these items are not published in the Berkshire Victoria History.
