Title: Transcripts from the Ashmolean Museum Antiquities Department Accessions Register, Numbers 1886.1444 and 1886.1709
Content: Entry for an iron umbo and an iron spear (1886.1444), excavated at Yarnton on 23 November 1876. These came to the Ashmolean Museum from the Rolleston Collection in the University Museum of Natural History. They were found with a skeleton and a strip of bronze (1886.1449) on the left wrist of the skeleton. Also an entry for part of an iron handle of a shield and part of an iron knife, both labelled 'Yarnton 23 November 1876.' Reference below these entries to 'Rolleston's Scientific Papers and Addresses, Volume II, p.944.'
