| Title: | Note by Mr E.T. Leeds based on information from Mr John Bean of Shakenoak Farm, Hailey, with a further note below by Mr D.B. Harden | ||||
| Content: | Mentions that Mr Beans' father discovered earthen bowls in good condition while draining a field in Wilcote just south of Akeman Street. Also states that Mr Bean discovered a fibula which was subsequently the possession of Mr Castle. Mr Bean also reported traces of stone work and coins, some of which were given to Mr Percy Manning. Notes that most of the finds came from near the road. The note by D.B. Harden at the foot of the page adds that he saw some of the objects mentioned in the possession of Miss Gask (nee' Castle?) in North Leigh, November 1936. | ||||
