Title: Manuscript extract from the Ashmolean Museum Department of Antiquities Accession Register, 1887.3202 - 3203.
Content: Extract entitled 'Appleton, Berks'. Extract for two Roman urns, the smaller found inside the larger. Found by Reverend J.W. Butler in a field in Appleton near the Rectory. Presented to the museum by Mr James Parker. Published in the 'Archaelogical Journal, Volume III. p.69.' The extract is written on a seperate strip of paper adhered to the sheet. A further note below this adds that the item cannot be found in the Berkshire Victoria History, but is referred to under Tubney with reference to 'Archaeological Journal, Volume III, p.69.'
