Minster Lovel Item No.: 1 No. of Sheets: 1
Title: Note by Mr E.T. Leeds
Content: Concerning his examination of a field marked on Manning's Archaeological Ordnance Survey Map as being the probable site of Anglo-Saxon burials. Mentions that he found traces of a pocket at the top of the quarry with disturbed soil in it, fragments of animal bone, ox horn, a core and two small fragments of flint. A further note goes on to say that Mr. R.J. Lattery later extracted fragments of Neolithic pottery from the pocket. Mentions that the description of the field in the Transactions of the Oxford Architectural and Historical Society, Volume III, p.125 does not correspond with the reality.
