| Content: | Two notes: First based on information from Mr Richard Hatt of Dorchester, 1895. Concerning the discovery of a cemented cistern, around 2 ft square, surrounded by pieces of Roman urns while digging for gateposts in the farm yard of Manor Farm Dorchester. One fragment of urn - grey 'smother kiln' ware with a zig-zag ornamentation was in the possession of Mr Major of the Grammar School, Wallingford. Second note is based on information from Mr. H. Hewitt, July 1895. Concerning the discovery of several human skeletons sticking out of the river bank just below Little Wittenham Bridge on the east bank of the River Thames. | ||||
