Title: Manuscript extract from publication: 'Archaeological Journal, Volume VIII, p.313, June 6, 1851.'
Content: Concerning pottery, found near the residence of Lady Croke of Horton, exhibited to the society by president of Trinity College. There follows an account of the examinations of the site in woodland called 'Studley New Wood' and the discovery of the pottery by Sir Alexander Croke in 1839. The finds are listed and discussed and the site (possibly a Roman villa) described although no conclusion is drawn as to their original purpose. The objects (Pottery of various different types; Some glass; Portions of pudding-stone for querns) were in the possession of Lady Croke.
